Yumehotaru offers fresh spiny lobsters and seafood sourced from the west coast of Amakusa at reasonable prices, made possible by a fishmonger directly managed by the shop.Shimoda Onsen, with a history spanning approximately 750 years since its opening, is renowned hot spring reputed to be effective in treating cuts and fatigue. The water is drained and cleaned daily, ensuring that you can enjoy fresh, clean hot spring water at any time with complete peace of mind.

Since our ingredients are exceptionally fresh, we want you to enjoy them at their most delicious time. To ensure this, we adjust our meal serving times to better suit our customers. We use a generous selection of live, wild fish and seafood sourced from the rugged waters off the west coast of Amakusa. Savor beautifully presented dishes that guarantee a satisfying meal.

Lobsters

Amakusa is known as one of the top lobster-producing regions in Kyushu. Lobsters spawn in the spring and then move through the seasons of summer, autumn, and winter, during which their flesh reaches its firmest texture. Their translucent meat is remarkably firm, and with each bite, a sweetness gradually spreads across your tongue.

Sakitsu Church

Sakitsu Church is a sea cathedral located in a fishing village that overlooks the calm Yokaku Bay. It has a rich history of secretly practicing Christianity during the time when the Christianity was banned in Japan. The surrounding area has been recognized as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches, 100 Best Fragrant Landscapes, and as an Important Cultural Landscape.

Oe Church

The Oe Cathedral is a white Romanesque church that was built following the lifting of the ban on Christianity. Built in 1933 by Father Garnier and his followers, the church features a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and a spring located on its grounds. The high ceilings of the church are particularly impressive.

Amakusa Christian Museum

The museum showcases approximately 200 items, including the Amakusa Shiro Camp Register, fumie (an image of a deity stepping on a tree), and Maria Kannon statues. Divided into four zones, the museum offers a clear and informative introduction to Christian history, Nanban culture, the Shimabara Rebellion, and the revival of faith that followed the rebellion.

Myoken Coast

The reef is a nationally designated scenic spot and natural monument, notable for its resemblance to an elephant when viewed from Jusanbutsu Park. It is also a popular location for scuba diving and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

Shiratsuruhama Beach

It is one of the 100 best swimming beaches in Japan and is one of the few designated beaches in Kumamoto Prefecture. The water is extremely clear, allowing for activities like surfing.

Kikaigaura Observatory

The west coast of Amakusa has been recognized as one of the top 100 sunset spots in Japan. The view of the sun setting over the East China Sea is truly stunning, making it a popular destination for scenic observations. At Blue Garden, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset while gazing out at the sea.
